So to fund their audits and shareholder profits, most PBMs find inane excuses to claim that a prescription was billed incorrectly or documented wrong or some other excuse to justify recoupment of the entire claim. The most recent audit I completed was requesting documentation on 30 prescriptions that had a total cost of over $30,000.
